In 2008, Griffith Laboratories has focused on managing the portfolio, operating more effectively, creating innovative commercial solutions, and improving the learning and growth of employees. As we end our fiscal year, we have seen improvements in all of these key initiatives. The common thread running through all of these initiatives is an emphasis on Griffith’s corporate values.
These initiatives have allowed us to renew our focus on living the Griffith Laboratories’ corporate values – behave like owners, make the future better, work together globally, act like family, deliver results, and build customer success. One of the enablers of this renewal has been our Global Communication Initiative. Through this initiative we have made it easier for our people to communicate globally and we have brought our corporate values to the forefront and celebrated the employees that live these values. These efforts have made Griffith Laboratories a stronger company and allowed us to improve our ability to provide customer value in the market place.
With the recent surge in energy and commodity prices that have hit the food industry quite hard over the last year, providing a solid value proposition to customers has become more important than ever. Our organization is committed to providing our customers with a solid value proposition that will enable them to better compete in the market place. As proof that this strategy is working our performance as a supplier was recognized by customers several times throughout the year. Such awards recognize how our global initiatives are succeeding in achieving our goal of providing value to our customers.
We are able to consistently provide a superior value proposition to our customers through Griffith Laboratories’ Food Architects Approach. This approach utilizes our proprietary systems to create custom-built solutions for our customers using proven repeatable processes. The Food Architect process combines sensory science testing, analytical testing, food technology, and food ingredient expertise with culinary artistry and consumer research. The Food Architect approach successfully combines the science of food development with the art of culinary creation.
In 2009 Griffith Laboratories will be celebrating its 90th year of business. Since 1919 we have been working with food companies to improve their products and help them succeed in the market place. Our values, instilled from the beginning by the Griffith family, have steered this company through nine decades of growth. They have also allowed us to help our customers succeed. Our renewed focus on our corporate values has helped us find a renewed energy and commitment and provide a means to rise to the next level.
I am extremely proud of the Griffith Laboratories’ business family as we approach the 90th year of operations. We will continue to live our corporate values and focus on creating customer value. This is why Griffith Laboratories has been successful in business for 90 years and this is why we will continue to be successful in the future.
